Warragamba Dam, NSW

Warragamba Dam, NSW

Warragamba Dam is located 65 kilometres southwest of Sydney, near the town of Wallacia. It was constructed between 1948 and 1960 though enhancements were completed in 2009. The Water Board erected the town of Warragamba to house dam workers and their families, and sold the township after the dam’s completion. A number of residents bought their homes from the Water Board in 1960 and 1961 to live permanently in Warragamba.
